PROTEINS
Proteins are extremely complicated molecules and nitrogenous compound made up of variable number of molecules amino acids held together each other by specific type of covalent bond called peptide bond. Proteins are polymers of amino acids
GENERAL FORMULA OF PROTEINS:
Albeit amino acids might have different recipes, those in protein perpetually have the overall equation RCH(NH2)COOH, where C is carbon, H is hydrogen, N is nitrogen, O is oxygen, and R is a gathering, fluctuating in organization and design, called a side chain.
FUNCTIONS OF PROTEIN:
Protein has many roles in your body. It helps repair and build your body's tissues, allows metabolic reactions to take place and coordinates bodily functions. In addition to providing your body with a structural framework, proteins also maintain proper pH and fluid balance.
STRUCTURE OF PROTEINS:
The complete structure of a protein can be described at four different levels of complexity: primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary structure.
